TIA Tuesdays

August 2024
Alief Independent School District The Smart Choice Teacher Incentive Allotment

We are thrilled to announce that in May 2024, 47 teachers in Alief ISD received a designation from the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), alongside 23 teachers who received a local designation from Alief ISD. This resulted in a total distribution of $541,573.20 to our designated teachers! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication to providing the students of Alief ISD with a high-quality education.

Looking ahead, the future of TIA looks promising as we aim to continue growing the number of designated teachers year after year. This starts with ensuring that our teachers are well-informed about the TIA program and the opportunities it presents. This newsletter serves the purpose of providing teachers with multiple ways to access TIA information, positioning them to work towards and earn a TIA designation. We believe that by equipping our educators with the necessary knowledge and resources, we can further support their professional growth and the continued success of the TIA program within our district. We will release the TIA Newsletter every third Tuesday of the month, so be sure to check your inbox for the latest news and information. Thank you for being an integral part of Alief ISD!

Teacher Type Verification August 27th - 30th

As we prepare to submit our Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) data for the 2023-24 school year we want to inform you that all teachers will have the opportunity to verify their Teacher Type.

Teacher Types play a critical role in determining the TIA Effectiveness Measures assigned to teachers based on their teaching assignments. If a teacher falls into more than one Teacher Type category, they will be assigned the type that aligns with the majority of students they instruct.

<~5-minute Review by Friday, August 30th>

On August 27, 2024, all teachers who were TIA eligible under the 2023-24 school year will receive an email that lists their Teacher Type. If the information accurately reflects their teaching assignment for the 2023-24 school year, no action is required. However, if the information is incorrect, teachers should review the list of Teacher Types and email AliefTIAQuestions@aliefisd.net to let us know which Teacher Type aligns most closely with their 2023-24 school year role. Our TIA Team will review the request and consult with administrators on the campus to confirm if a change in Teacher Type is needed. Teachers will be notified by September 13th if a change is made.

The deadline to request a review of your 2023-24 Teacher Type is August 30, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Please note that any request made after this deadline will not be reviewed, and the Teacher Type listed below will remain in effect for TIA data submission.
