DR. MAYS’ WEEK AHEAD An Update from Superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays

January 23, 2025
Dr. Mays

Thank you to our custodians and maintenance team for coming in during the snow and ice to ensure all systems were ready to go this morning. We appreciate your commitment to Alief ISD. Because of your commitment, our students did not have to enter buildings with puddles of water and damage from the snowstorm. Our teachers and students could enter warm buildings and educate our students. While the storm was an inconvenience, I am beyond grateful and proud of the work of our Alief ISD team in navigating the historic moment!

This month, we have celebrated our trustees and their undeniable support of our daily work with students. I often tell everyone the role of a trustee is a volunteer position. Long hours go into a commitment that they perform as a sacrifice to family and other interests they may have. We appreciate their commitment to supporting everyone here in Alief ISD as we all work to serve our students and families! Please let them know how much we value their service to Alief ISD whenever you see them.

Family and Student Climate and Safety Survey

We would appreciate the feedback from ALL of our parents and guardians. Please complete one survey per campus at which you have a child enrolled and attending school.

Families may access the anonymous survey using this link through February 7. The survey includes 8 statements and 2 open-ended questions.

Students will be taking the Social-Emotional Learning/Climate and Safety Survey (Jan. 21 – Feb. 7) and the TIA Student Perception Survey (Jan. 27 – Feb. 14), administered by campus staff.

We hope to receive open and honest feedback from our families and students so that we can ensure the continuation of programs and practices that are going well, and reflect on things that may need to be modified, adjusted, or implemented.

Thank you for your participation!

Congratulations to our January MVPs for embodying excellence in Alief ISD! For more photos, please visit here.
