DR. MAYS’ WEEK AHEAD An Update from Superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays

November 18, 2024
Dr. Mays

Thanksgiving is upon us, and a much-needed break is approaching. I encourage everyone to enjoy their time with family and friends. The downtime brings much-needed time for reflection and introspection. I hope that everyone will take the time to enjoy some good food and rest.

When we return from our Thanksgiving break, we will have just a few weeks before our winter break. Time is running out for the fall semester, and every moment counts for students' success. A little progress every day adds up for our students. Even as they are home for a break, let's encourage them to use IREADY, College Board, or other platforms available for their growth. We know that these tools positively impact student learning and outcomes,  so even while our students are away they can move closer to their goal of being college or career ready.

Congratulations to our October MVP Award winners for exemplifying positivity, strong communication, and caring relationships! Alvia Baldwin (Alief Admin), Sylvia Ibarra (Student Services), Santiago Salazar (Miller MS), and Nicandra Villegas (Landis Elementary).
