This past week we celebrated our MVP’s and their contributions to Alief ISD. We appreciate all that you do to support a positive climate and culture here in Alief with your quality customer service to our students, parents, and colleagues! I was able to recognize Commissioner Briones with my first Superintendent Community Contributor Award. We appreciate everything she has done for Alief!
National School Bus Safety Week serves as a reminder for students, parents, drivers, and personnel to prioritize safe practices both in and around buses.
Remember the vital role of the school bus drivers in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.
If the November 5 VATRE passes, not only will it generate $11.3 million in local funds, but it will also require the state to kick in an additional $4.1 million. To learn more, visit our website at http://fiscalfitness.aliefisd.net/vatre
Congratulations to the Olle Speech and Debate Team for finishing third at the Warrior Invitational Speech Festival at Albright Middle School. Great job by all 29 students, 20 of whom were attending their first speech tournament ever!
Alief ISD’s Band Day was a huge success! Our talented students delivered incredible performances, and the energy in the stadium was electric. For more photos, visit here.
Hastings Bears attended the Dulles HS Speech and Debate tournament
Grace Barnaba (11th grade) and Esther Ola (10th grade) made it to semi-finals in original oratory. Sakeenah Adeyinka (12th grade) finished second overall. Sakeenah finished 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation and first place in Program Oral Interpretation. Dana Figueroa (11th grade) competed in Lincoln Douglas Debate and finished in 3rd place.
The students competed against dozens of students from over 25+ schools from around the Houston area and finished on top. We are very proud of them!
This weekend, Commissioner Lesley Briones recognized 12 amazing Alief ISD students whose artwork will be showcased on a Harris County Precinct 4 bus! These buses are more than transportation—they assist seniors, carry disaster supplies, and act as mobile warming and cooling centers! See their amazing work and learn more about this initiative here!
