An Update from Superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays |

As we close out fall break, I hope everyone was able to pause and spend time with family and friends. I am sure this brief break was needed to recharge our batteries as we move through the rest of the semester. You will often hear me say, “You cannot give from an empty pail”! The ideal is that we do whatever it takes to ensure we are healthy and whole to meet our students' needs. After all, they deserve our best. Taking care of yourself allows us all to serve one another even more effectively.

The classroom is a great place for learning! Every moment presents an opportunity for something life-changing. No instructor knows when a spark will catch fire. That is what makes the work of teachers and campus administrators special. The fires you start in our students now will help them become our next doctors, lawyers, auto mechanics, nurses, or even educators later. I recognize and celebrate the power of an effective teacher and principal! Again, I hope everyone enjoyed the brief pause and that we are all ready to serve our students and serve them well!

Let’s keep working together to help all of our students and Alief ISD grow stronger! |
Alief Proud - Rooted in Legacy, Building the Future |
Alief ISD is committed to building a strong future while honoring the traditions and history that define our district. As student enrollment declines, the district must thoughtfully evaluate how resources are allocated to ensure every student continues to have access to high-quality educational opportunities.
Through the School Optimization Plan, Alief ISD will engage families, staff, and community members in upcoming forums to share information, gather feedback, and explore solutions together. By working collaboratively, we can make informed, student-centered decisions that support educational excellence and position our district for a sustainable future. To learn more, click here.
